Families in crisis often struggle with the desire to stay together, yet the reality that home is no longer a safe and nurturing place for a child. Private providers offer services at a critical time, including group home (congregate, community-based) care.

As the Commonwealth increases the number of children placed with families, the input of the Private Providers workgroup is especially critical. By developing strategies that give private providers a chance to address Transformation recommendations, while adapting their services to meet Virginia’s changing practice model, families and children will continue to benefit from their expertise.

As we work together to increase permanency for kids, Virginia’s private providers will continue to play a central role.
